PHUSE EMEA Winter SDE
Date: December 2, 2021 Location: Online
Join eClinical Solutions virtually at PHUSE EMEA Winter SDE!
This year’s Winter SDE theme is all about being FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) when it comes to our data – a term that has become a fixed need in our everyday work and is increasing in importance. In the current ever-changing world, it is becoming more and more important to adhere to the FAIR principles in organisations, institutes and in every instance which works with data.
eClinical Solutions is excited to be presenting the session, Data Ecosystems 2.0: The Data-fluid Organisation, which will examine considerations for end-to-end data centralization and availability, beginning with standards and concluding with a comprehensive computing environment.
Session | Data Ecosystems 2.0: The Data-fluid Organisation
December 2nd | 10:50-11:30 CET
Many clinical trials now use six or more data sources, with the majority of clinical trial data coming from external or non-EDC data sources. With decentralized trials adoption on the rise, data complexity will only increase. To enable data access and collaboration across data stakeholders in data science, biostatistics and programming, infrastructures for managing data must consider the FAIR principles from start to finish and make the FAIRness of digital assets a priority through centralization, interoperability, automation and reusability. Data activities can contribute to significant delays in trial timelines – and enabling teams to apply technology to solve clinical data challenges requires true data fluidity. To mitigate trial impacts, we must rethink the clinical data ecosystem and address streamlining and automating data flows so that data collaborators can take advantage of ML and AI.
This presentation will examine considerations for end-to-end data centralization and availability, beginning with standards and concluding with a comprehensive computing environment.

Berber Snoeijer, Business Consultant, ClinLine
Berber Snoeijer started in clinical research in 1997 as a biometrician and has since then worked with clinical data in different functions. In 2001 she started a CRO, Biometric Support, aiming at the data management, data analysis and reporting of clinical trials. She switched in 2011 to work as a R&D manager dedicated to investigate and utilize the potential of real world data from electronic health records. This resulted in many different solutions including a full reporting system to give feedback information to clinical research professionals. For efficient processes and use of the data, she experienced and used the skills of technical (software and database) engineering, process engineering and improving efficient utilization and interactions of people based on management drives. Nowadays, she uses these skills and knowledge to assess, design and improve business solutions and processes on smaller and larger scale.
