Senior Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer

BACKGROUND

eClinical Solutions is looking for a senior software quality assurance test engineer to join the CDR development team. The CDR is a Software as a Service platform designed by data management domain experts to deliver intuitive and highly scalable set of services for managing clinical trial data. The CDR platform is called eGrex and provides value to its customers through a user-friendly web interface, providing a facility for loading, accessing, and analyzing data in real-time, supporting the pooling of data across multiple trials to allow cross-trial analysis, reporting as well as many other essential capabilities germane to clinical trial management.

The Senior Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer will be a core member of the eClinical Solutions Clinical Data Repository (CDR) product development team. The SQA test engineer will be primarily responsible for driving test driven design with development, designing, implementing, and executing functional and system level tests, participating in unit test and code reviews, helping to manage test system environment, write defect reports, establish defect metrics, create release notes, and supports release review criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimum of 8 years of SQA Test Engineering experience
Minimum of 5 years testing distributed software application preferably with a web front-end and data base back-end base on Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, SQL Server)
Conversant in all aspects of software quality assurance – from test design, test case development and implementation, test execution, test debug, bug reporting, troubleshooting problems uncovered during testing, bug triage process, and establishing quality metrics for release criteria
Experience working with developers at the unit (white-box), functional (black-box), and system level. Demonstrated abilities to write and executive functional and system test cases that are both broad and deep in test coverage
Demonstrated abilities to write test scripts and/or utilize a test automation framework to design, implement, and execute automated test scripts
Possess the aptitude to understand software design and has experience working with software engineers in performing test driven design – works cooperatively with developers applying test cases to software designs and features to uncover defects prior to implementation
Exposure to or participation in the application of Agile Methodologies is a plus
Experience working in a start-up environment is a plus
Possesses the personal traits and characteristics to perform a multitude of different SQA test engineering functions in a comprehensive manner
Demonstrated abilities to help establish solid SQA testing methodologies, processes, and procedures while working in a fast pace, competitive environment
Supports requests made by Director of QA in response to client audits
Excels at troubleshooting and isolating system level failures
Experience in writing release documentation
Possesses technical ability to assist development in managing build environment
Exceptional communication, work ethics, and problem solving skills
Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus
BS or MS in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience
